I saw the documentary recently, it was highly realistic and authentic insight into the innerwest drug scene. Walks through the Northcott, Newtown etc. Would have been a little confronting for those not familiar with drug culture. To me, it was all unsurprising. Its not that long since a roommate and I walked to the northcott [a houso highrise in surry hills] to score heroin and hit it up in the grounds. Again, the effects of the drug are very difficult to describe to a nonuser like for them to understand. I recall this ageing, decaying depressing neighborhood, rather like the one I live in at Waterloo, a sh*7ho7e of an area. When my roommate & I hit up she and I gave each other a hug. In something unparallelled for me, I was warm inside, my hardships seemed to disappear and this curtain of peace and euphoria descended around me. Yeah I've had ice as well many times, but this drug is less damage to mental health than ice--though the effects of dependence are like it has this hold on yuour body and wont let go.
